Kathua administration launches instant rescue operation | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Sept 6: District Administration, Police and Civil Defence jointly launched an instant rescue operation and saved the lives of five people of a family when their house was surrounded with flooding water of river Ujh in village "Bhambarwan" near Rajbag of Tehsil Hiranagar of District Kathua here today. As per the report of an official, the five members of a family are safely rescued and shifted at safer place with the immediate required facilities whatever on the disposal of administration. Since last night the villages "Bhambarwan" and "Karman- dikalam" which are exactly situated on the bank of Ujh River were flooded but timely rescue operation was launched and saved the lives hundreds of people with the help of locals and shifted them at safer places. While speaking to the media, the locals, Nazir Husain, Ch. Mohamad and many others expressed their great resentment against the ill actions of administration, police and Civil Defence and claimed that they are the local people who were at their own risk put themselves in the flood and saved the drowning people otherwise the administration, police and Civil Defence made the efforts just as eyewash. The sufferers also claimed that our agriculture land is worst hit by the flood in Ujh and the entered water forcibly into our villages, houses and agriculture farms and caused erosion at large extent. They said the two rooms are given to the flood affected 30-35 families in Sheep Husbandry but is not a sufficient space to accommodate these families so they also demanded a separate accommodation at safer place. Ration and loss of crops should also be compensated to the flood affected families to sustain their survival, they further demanded. |
