Pampore was also completely submerged like any other part of the flood-hit Jammu and Kashmir.A lady was experiencing labour pains and crying but there was no one to help. Immediately after getting the SMS, the Army Aviation team swung into action and a mission 'Save Kashmiri baby' was quickly put in place. Rescue boats were dispatched to the locality from where the 24-year old expecting mother Arshida was to be evacuated. After Army jawans brought her to a safer place, she was airlifted to Badami Bagh Cantt by a chopper. Finally, she was admitted to the Base Hospital in Srinagar where she delivered the male baby. |
