State Govt yet to awake from deep slumber, restoration work yet to start in normal Jammu region | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 10: Even as the Army has constructed some of the damaged bridges across the state of Jammu and Kashmir, State Government has yet to start operations to damage important bridges. Two bridges on the river Tawi-one at Mandal Phalian area and second one at Bhagwati Nagar were damaged on Saturday but till date no step has been taken by the State authorities start repair of these two vital bridges. Since Sunday morning weather is not only fair but it is also conducive for start construction or repair work but unfortunately State Government has not started any process to repair these two bridges. Credible sources said that none of the officers is ready to start repairing of the damaged bridges because they want that funds should be allotted before repair work start. It seems that even after passing of four days when rain has stopped State Government yet to awake from the deep slumber. Instead of starting restoration work, officers are more concerned about arranging visits of VIPs and other ministers. Neither Ministers nor politicians of the ruling coalition were ready to shoulder responsibility of cope up with the prevailing situation. Pertinent to mention here that Army has started construction of pontoon bridge on river Tawi at Mandal two days back. Today the bridge was opened for vehicular movement but State Government has failed to even repair some minor bridges during the last four days. |
