NC's candidate beat Sarpanch in presence of police; FIR lodged

JAMMU, Sept 10: A day after senior Congress leader faced ire of the people in Kashmir, another leader from NC camp faced wrath of people in Kashmir today at Srinagar airport. The incident took place when the Mohd Akbar Lone, Minister for Higher Education reached at Srinagar airport along with his family members for boarding to Jammu. The eyewitnesses said that, feeling aggrieved of the minister who are leaving them at the mercy of the God, the people at the airport started accusing him. However, ignoring the people accusation, the minister made his way.
Pertinently, while Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is distributing relief in the shape of food and other essential materials to the flood hit people in Kashmir from army chopper, most of ministers and politicians in his government are being brought to Jammu from Srinagar. Already, NC stalwart Sheikh Nazir, Mir Saifullah, minister of law and parliamentary affairs, A.R Rather minister for Finance, Sham Lal , minister for PHE and others have reached in winter capital along with their family members.
Meanwhile, NC's candidate for assembly elections from Suchetgarh Constituency namely T.S Tony beat Sarpanch namely Tarsem Lal of village Beaspur in full public view that too in presence of senior police officers and MLAs of the area. The incident took place in Arnia area when the NC candidate for assembly elections was addressing the gathering. His speech was pinpointed by the victim Sarpanch resulting his beating. Later, the people of the area lodged complaint to the Arnia police station against NC candidate and his accomplice namely Lovely Singh, Rampaul, Joginder Lal and Mohan Lal. Later, police lodged FIR against them.
Chief Engineers regretted that the media had reported wrong information about collapsing of the IVth bridge on Tawi. "Instead approach road of the bridge was washed away, repair work of which is to be initiated from tomorrow as the company which was allotted the work of the construction of the bridge, has been asked by the PWD (R&B) to get it repaired within shortest possible time," he added.
