Care Nature continue relief distribution with SOUL, JU | Wattal visits the affected area on request of NGO | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 10: Care Nature and Environment, an NGO who owned the responsibility for providing the relief and basic amenities to the people of Gujjar Nagar, Lower Gujjar Nagar and Peer Khoo area under the coordination and guidance Disaster Management wing of Jammu University and Social Organization and Universal Living (SOUL)-a Social group continued the relief distribution on fourth day. Raw food material was distributed to two identified Langer points i.e at Gujjar Nagar Madrass and Peerkhoo where food was being cooked to further distribute among the needy flood victims. “All the database of victims who have suffered losses in the form of lives and livestock of these three areas has been prepared by the volunteers of Care nature and Environment, Disaster Wing of Jammu University and SOUL after paying door to door visit of the areas”, said Ruchi Chouhan Khan Chairman Care Nature and Environment. A team headed by Ruchi Chouhan Khan, Secretary NGO alongwith Payal Saraf, Michi Kalara, Devlina, Anu Manocha, Ashu Goel, Rajan Nagpal, Lovely Arora, K Koushal, Vice President SOUL, Shiv Dev Thakur Treasure and Deep Sharma Care Nature and Environment under the guidance of HoD Disaster Management Wing Jammu University GM Bhat, in collaboration with IRCS and Pardeep Singh Bali, President SOUL personally distributed the relief including old clothes, utensils, and medicines to the affected persons of these three areas. Earlier, the NGO members held meeting with Additional Deputy Commissioner and discussed about the problems being faced by the flood victims of these areas. ADC assured them all possible help and promised them to depute some doctors to hold medical camps in these areas. NGO praised the desilting process done by JMC and appreciate the personal intervention of Kiran Wattal, Commissioner JMC who visited the Peer Khoo area personally and directed the officials to portable water tanks for the drinking water facility of the locals. Chlorination tablets were also distributed among the locals of these areas so that they can protect themselves from water borne diseases. |
