SSJAC criticizes some people using name of organization

Jammu, Sept 10: Students Scholar Joint Action Committee (SSJAC) has criticized some people, who were trying to malign the image of some members of Committee, who were spearheading the agitation regarding the prefixed appointments and large number of academic irregularities.
According to press release, a meeting of SSJAC was held under the chairmanship of Varinder Thakur, who said that some people were trying to malign their image for pursuing their vested interests.
Ajay Kumar said that some people were using the Committee name, to malign the image of relatives of SSJAC.
Kapil said that their names were used in the wrong way in some section of media, by making frivolous statements and also said that they didn't have any information regarding a news item, came in the media regarding electrical tenders in the Jammu University.
AJHLA sends another 'consignment of relief' for flood victims

Jammu, Sept 10: Continuing its goodwill gesture of relief donation for flood victims All Jammu Hotels & Lodges Association (AJHLA) has sent another consignment of relief consisting of two Quintals food grains for the victims stranded in flood waters still waiting for evacuation to safer places.
Inderjeet Khajuria President AJHLA interacting with the members in the meeting lauded the herculean efforts of dependable Indian Army Engineers for linking the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country by opening the road from Shimla to Srinagar via Leh. He urged the telecom authorities to restore telephone service at the earliest.
The President while appreciating the relief contribution announced by the Chief Ministers of Gujrat, Bihar,,Maharashtra, Uttarkhand, Madhya Pradesh and other states for the victims in J&K made a fervant appeal to the traders to contribute generously in this hour of grief. Speaking further Khajuria urged the state Govt to maintain transparency and accountability in the process of identification of real victims and relief distribution work
Pawan Gupta, Baldev, Sunil Suri, Bikram Singh and ML Sharma were also present in this meeting.
IRCS continuing its mission ‘humanity’ in flood hit J&K

Jammu, Sept 10: Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Jammu is rendering all possible help to the needy persons in this hour of distress and till now IRCS, District Branch, Jammu has provided much needed help to the flood affected distressed people in the need of hour.
According to spokesperson, the IRCS till now has donated nearly 2500 blankets, 2800 tarpauline, 100 solar-torches and appx. 50 utensils sets and this material has now been kept at the disposal of concerned Tehsildars/SDMs for further distribution to the needy persons.
Meanwhile, IRCS has appealed all needy persons to contact their respective Tehsildars/SDMs for getting the due help. IRCS also appeals general public/philanthropists to come forward & donate in cash or through Punjab & Sindh Bank A/c No.01731000030394 or in kind (ration material, eatables, clothes, medicines, packed food items etc.)

JKHCBA grieves loss of lives in flash flood

Jammu, Sept 10: Jammu Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) Jammu held its meeting at the High Court Complex, Janipur, Jammu under the chairmanship of its president M K Bhardwaj, (Senior Advocate) to condole the loss of lives due to flash flood in the state.
Expressing grief over the tragic natural calamity which has led to death of more than 200 people of the state, president JKHCBA, Bhardwaj and other members prayed to Almighty to give strength to the bereaved families and their loved ones. The association also appealed to the Centre and State govt and its administration and other rescuing parties like NDRF, IAF, Army and voluntaries and public at large to provide all the possible help to the affected people who have lost their family members, houses business establishments.
The meeting was attended among other by Sindhu Sharma (Vice-President), Ranjit S Jamwal (Gen. Secretary) Prem N Sadotra (Joint Secretary) S Gurveer Singh (Treasurer), and other office bearers of the YLA , Jammu.
