PDP provides packed food to stranded flood victims | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 10: People's Democratic Party (PDP) today handed over some food packets to civil administration to be distributed amongst stranded flood victims in Jammu and Kashmir State. According to press release, the PDP leaders also made a fervent appeal to the people to come forward in a big way and contribute in whatsoever manner they can, so that flood affected people could be provided with adequate help. Flood affected people, PDP leader said are in distress and passing through worst ever crisis. This is the time to render help and make sure that their lives are saved in wherever they are stranded or evacuated from. While delivering food packets to the civil administration, PDP leaders assured that more such assistance would be sent in days to come. PDP candidate from Jammu East, Bharat Chowdhary along with former party councillor Zafar Khan, Ashok Jogi and Vikram handed over the material to civil administration only to be despatched to the affected families. They also appealed to the party worker and leaders besides common people to arrange medicines, blankets and other relief material to be dispatched to affected areas. Meantime, Bharat Chowdhary also appealed to the administration to restore communication links so that people could at least talk to their stranded relatives and know about their whereabouts. He said that lack of communication has sent everyone in shock. There are many areas which are without water and electricity and adequate arrangements should be made so that people don't starve. |
