Border residents protest against denial of 'road connectivity' | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Sept 22: Border residents of Tehsil Hiranagar stage a massive protest demonstration against the state government for being failed to provide the road connectivity to at least six villages since 1947. Led by Om Parkash and Adv Vinay Kumar protestors were raising slogans against successive governments and district administrations for failing to connect the border villages. Addressing the protestors the leaders alleged that it is only the ill intention of government that at least half dozen villages of Kotpunu, Chabe Chack and Slalpur Panchayats are deprived from road connectivity. They alleged that half of the villages of these three Panchayats in close vicinity of Indo-Pak International Border (IB) area of Tehsil Hiranagr still have not been taken for roads development. They also lamented that during the firing from across the border these villagers have no fast mode to migrate from the 'firing zone' just because of lack of better road connectivity and thus people are bound to face the life risk and many other fatal challenges. The protestors urged to state government to keep its focus to the firing prone areas for constructing the smooth and better roads. |
