Court denies bail to five miscreants in Kotha burning case | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 20 : Principal Sessions Judge Kishtwar Bala Joyti today rejected bail application of five persons accused of burning kotha of a Gujjar.The accused namely Haji Akbar, Isaq, Wahid, Israiel and Lal Hussain were arrested by the police in FIR NO 143/2014 for commission of offences under section 436/427 RPC read with Sec. 506 RPC. Police report reveals that FIR was lodged under section 156(3) Cr.P.C. Accodring to the case, the allegations are that the accused set house of complainant Abdul Rashid ablaze on July 6, 2014 in his absence due to which 'Kotha' (room) of the complainant situated at 'Chirwara Goth' was reduced to ashes, thereby causing huge loss to the complainant. Principal Sessions Judge Kishtwar Bala Joyti observed that the accused were arrested only 4 days ago and one of the accused is still absconding after commission of alleged offence. Investigation is at infancy, thus possibility of the applicants/accused wining over prosecution witnesses cannot be ruled out at this stage. Prayer of the applicants/accused named herein-above for release on bail is rejected. JNF |
