MENDHAR, Oct 20: The PoK (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) national, who was on Sunday evening apprehended by army troops after he crossed over to this side of the Line of Control (LoC) from K G sub-sector near here, has turned out to be an ex-Pak army sepoy.
"He is guide of militants and had sneaked into the Indian territory to recce the LoC areas to facilitate infiltration by ultras," official sources said.
He was identified as Abdul Hussain, son of Haji Khan of Hajira in Rawalkote, PoK. "He has retired from Ist bn of Pakistan's Engineering and Mechanical Branch, Central Staff College, Queta," the sources added.
His search led troops to the recovery of Rs 459 in Pak currency and an identity card bearing No AP723802. His sustained interrogation was in progress, sources said.
Sources said he was sent to this side of the LoC to recce the border area and find out a safe infiltration route for militants. The Pak ISI and army took his help after their repeated failures in the past one month to push militants into the Indian territory, the sources added.
He was taken into custody after the troops found him moving under suspicious circumstances near the LoC in K G sub-sector last evening. At the time of his arrest, he was moving towards the Nangi Tekri forward post of army.
