| After mandate selling controversy, advertisement scam rocks BJP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 23: Already facing charges of selling party mandates, another scam rocked state unit of BJP because a section of party workers have accused some new entrants of minting money in the name of publicity and media management.
Instead of hand over work of media management, IT campaign and publicity to old hands, some leaders of state unit of the party have given these important responsibilities to some outsiders who have recently joined BJP. These new entrants have gradually hijacked the media management and they are allegedly making money in the name of media management and publicity.
Credible sources in the BJP said that recently a team from central office had visited Jammu to identify news papers for giving advertisement. This central team had selected only three or four news papers for advertisement campaign. These news papers were selected on the basis of their circulations but local team, which is managing media here, has included nearly 30 news papers including even those which published copies below 100.
Credible sources said that these "outsiders" who have patronage of some senior BJP leaders are collecting huge commission from news papers in exchange of getting their advertisement approved. A news paper with a circulation of not more 500 copies in whole Jammu region is getting huge advertisement because owner of this news paper has fixed commission. This news paper is not an isolated case there are a dozen other news papers which are getting advertisement on the basis of commission fixed by them with those who are at the helm of the affairs in BJP Media War Room. |
