Srinagar, Dec 15 : A day after two BJP candidates in Kashmir remained in news for slapping on duty polling officials and agents, BJP candidate from Hazratbal today accused NC, PDP of using administrative men and machinery to capture polling booths and tame BJP popularity by employing illegal methods.
Talking to Early Times, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Hazratbal constituency, Hakim Masood alleged that regional political Parties National conference (NC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) used some officials of state administration as per their will and wish to capture polling booths and overcome the growing popularity of BJP during fourth phase of polling in Kashmir by employing paid gangs of people to beat BJP workers and supporters while enjoying complete impunity from law of the land.
"Polling booth number 81-82 in Mir Behri inside Dal Lake werecompletely captured by NC people in nexus with officials of state administration, officials on duty there did not sealed EVM's, at the end of the day, I have many doubts about transparency as at the end of the day BJP polling agents were not given slips which is mandatory, is this what you called fair elections."Said BJP Candidate from Hazratbal, Hakim Masood. He also alleged that in Mir Behri polling booths number 83 and 84 polling were closed before scheduled time period and around 800 people most of them as BJP well-wishers who were waiting outside these polling booths since morning till 3:45 pm were not allowed to wait and added that officials who were in nexus with NC office bearers create unnecessary problems wherever they felt BJP can gain vote bank and defeat NC candidate. Hakim also alleged that on the behest of NC office bearers police detained some boys who till yesterday were part of BJP election campaigning and added that NC paid gangs were involved in stone pelting against BP workers in Sultan Mohalla, Kani Mohalla and Ashraf Mohalla of Dal where according to him in one group clash one bridge was set ablaze by NC paid gang in Ashraf Mohalla but only BJP supporters were detained by police on the behest of NC office bearers who are in power this time.
Pertinently two other BJP candidates in Kashmir one from Srinagar, Hina Bhat and another from Shopian, Javaid Ahmad Qadri added spoil spot to smooth polling process during fourth phase of polling in Kashmir after one reportedly slapped one on duty presiding officer in a polling booth in Srinagar, while as another was booked by police for slapping one polling agent of an independent candidate.
Hakim said that NC is well aware of his fate in Kashmir as according to him people have rejected NC across the state and added that he has already informed District election officer Srinagar in this regard and he through his party canons will took every step to inform election commission of India to took strict action against NC and against all those officials who in nexus with NC captured polling booths to benefit NC candidate of Hazratbal constituency.
