Rape accused denied bail

Jammu, Dec 19 :Third Additional Sessions Judge/Presiding Officer, Fast Track Court, Jammu, Y P Kotwal has rejected the bail application of an alleged rape accused.
According to the police case, when the victim entered bathroom at about 1 pm on November 6, Deepak (Avtar Singh), who lives in her neighborhood, was already hiding inside. He allegedly put a handkerchief on her mouth as a result of which she became unconscious. The handkerchief contained some tranquilizer. When she regained consciousness at about 3 am, she found herself on a bed in the house of Deepak in a naked condition. On this police registered a case under section 342/376 of RPC against the accused. The presiding officer, after hearing the two sides, observed that the offence was very heinous and hence dismissed the bail. (JNF)
