Sidhu's cavalcade attack: FIR registered against stone pelters | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 19: Satwari police today registered a case against four youth and some unidentified persons for stoning cavalcade of former Member Parliament of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) at Bhour Camp on Thursday. According to police sources, the four youths identified in the FIR include Ramneek Singh, Joginderpal Singh of Lower Gadi Garh Harpreet Singh of Bhour Camp, Mandeep Singh of Upper Gadi Garh while the some unidentified persons too have been included in the case. Following a complaint a case against FIR 197/14 u/s 307, 341, 332, 353, 427, 323, 147, 148,149 and 336 of RPC was registered today against above-mentioned accused besides some unidentified persons for their alleged involvement in assault on former BJP- MP and cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu when he was on returning from an election rally at Bhour Camp. Former BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu's cavalcade was attacked by unidentified assailants in Jammu on Thursday while Sidhu was campaigning for the Assembly polls at Bhor camp on the outskirts of the city in which five security personnel sustained injuries. BJP has alleged that the Congress was behind the incident. Police after registering a case have started further investigation in the matter. |
