Jammu, Jan 18: On the instructions of Commissioner, Secretary to Government Social Welfare, Health and Medical Education Department Gazanffar Hussain, more than 19,000 Children in the age group of 0 to 5 years affiliated with Creche Centres, run by J&K State Social Welfare Board, were administered Pulse Polio Drops at various Health Centres across the State. According to press release, Executive Director and Secretary J&K State Social Welfare Board Aamir Ali said that the Board is running 750 Crèche Centres throughout the J&K State, for children between the age group of 0-6 years belonging to very poor, BPL or AAY families. These Centers provide children with day care, protection, food, educational and recreational support. The crèche centres are outsourced through NGOs/Voluntary organisations and cater to the needs of 25 children per centre. |
