Jammu, Jan 18: Notwithstanding clarification given by a faction of Congress regarding this proposed meeting, unity is still a distant dream in the faction ridden Congress party because party leaders are still failed to keep all the faction together.
A faction of the Congress leaders today issued a handout to clarify that they are not going to hold any meeting on January 22 to intensify campaign for ousting incumbent Pradesh Congress Committee chief Saif-ud-Din Soz but name of none of the Soz supporter was mentioned in the handout. Furthermore the hand out mentioned that Congress leaders are committed to unite the party but they have not mentioned name of any party leader who owe his allegiance with Saif-ud-Soz. The statement was self contradictory in the sense that because party leaders have failed to clarify whether they are against Soz or not.
The statement was issued on the behalf of Senior Congress leaders including JKPCC vice president Janak Raj Gupta, Former Dy CM Tara Chand, MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, MLA Devsar Mohd Amin Bhat, Secretary JKPCC and Spokesperson Salman Nizami, MLA Shangus Gulzar Ahmed Wani and MLA Surankote Chowdhary Akram. Interestingly name of none of Soz supporter was mentioned in the statement.
"The Congress leaders have rebutted a news report by a section of media that Azad loyalists are meeting on January 22 for campaign to seek ouster of JKPCC president. They said that no such meeting is going to take place for the ouster of JKPCC president or for PCC reshuffle, its only party high command which has to decide and is authorize to take such decision", the statement reads as.
It further mentioned in the statement, "Let us make it clear to this particular media that Congress represents aspirations of people and neither the vested interest groups," Congress leaders said and added that some parties have the agenda of flaring up the communal tension and misleading the people on the name of religion, region, caste and creed which disintegrate the society but whenever Congress came into power they have assure better development in the state and is committed for peace and development and this is the only agenda of this party".
This statement issued by a section of party leaders authenticated that unity was still a distance dream. The statement was issued from aemail.id of Jammu Congress and it was not issued by from official mail id of JKPCC. Furthermore it was forwarded by some elements who known to the loyalist to a particular faction of the party. It appears that Congress leaders have not learnt any lesson from its worst ever defeat in the assembly polls.
