Uncertainty over government formation to end soon Bashir Assad 1/19/2015 12:07:39 AM Early Times Report Jammu, Jan17 : The uncertainty over government formation will end soon as the two major political parties, PDP and BJP have almost reached an agreement. The announcement to this effect is expected anytime. The major bottlenecks, according to the highly placed sources, on forging an alliance between PDP and BJP have been removed. "The new government is expected anytime now," sources said and added that it can even be before January 26. They said that the contentious issues between the parties have been more or less resolved and it is a matter of time now. Sources said the BJP has decided not to defer the government formation in Jammu and Kashmir. "Delhi election has no bearing on government formation in Jammu and Kashmir," they said. They said that both the parties have done a lot of homework now to keep intact their respective constituencies. "Work is in progress on finalisation of common minimum programme and it will not take too long to put it in place," they added. Highly placed sources said that both the parties are keen to contest the Rajya Sabha elections in alliance notification for which is expected to be issued on January 28. Sources said that if the situation remains conducive, the government formation can take place before January 26. However, sources said in case of any eventuality, the oath taking ceremony can be deferred till first week of February. They said that immediately after the oath ceremony, a brief session of the assembly could be convened to pass vote on account to address the prevailing financial crisis. Sources said the size of ministry ay the first instance could be restricted to 18. Expansion of the cabinet would be effected somewhere in the mid April. Meanwhile PDP has convened meeting of its executive body on January 24 in Jammu. PDP sources said that the party will deliberate on various issues of government formation in alliance with the BJP.
