Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 18: Violating the laid norms, a Delhi based construction company almost installed a crusher in the vicinity of Government Degree College (GDC) Ramban while district administration was caught napping.
Witnessing the construction work in progress near his 5 Marla plot, the complainant Gulchain Singh and others of village Karole Koondi brought it to the notice of the district administration that a Delhi based firm namely M/S Milith Karv Engineering and Trading Company Limited, New Delhi, camp office Batote was installing a crusher near the college building which is against the guidelines set by the Apex Court but as per the complainant, district administration didn't bother to take action against the company installing crusher until pressure was mounted on the administration by MLA Ramban Neelam Langeh.
The complainant has sent some photographs of the construction site while the construction work was in progress under the nose of the administration to Early Times to authenticate his claims but when Early Times contacted Deputy Commissioner Farooq Shah Bukhari, he rejected the claims of the complainant that any pressure was mounted on the administration by any elected representative of the area and said, "The issue was first brought to my notice by a Professor of the college namely Prof. Ganai who told me that the construction site is in the close proximity of the college and if the crusher was installed, locals in general and student community in particular will suffer the most because of the high rate of emission of toxic gases and dust ".
"It is also true that the company was installing this crusher without getting valid NOCs from Municipality, Forest Department and district administration and as the matter came to the notice of the District administration, the company was asked to stop the construction work immediately and the same has been stalled", said Deputy Commissioner.
