Jammu, Jan 18: Progressive Forum for Children Welfare (PFCW) expressed concern over traffic week was celebrated with all pump and show by the J&K state administration but none of the dignitaries has spoken a single word related encroached foot paths by the shop keepers in Jammu, Srinagar resulted hurdle for children and pedestrians. According to press release, patron Deep Singh said it is the incompetent ruling political class and its administrative machinery that utterly failed to remove footpath encroachments despite repeated directions of state High Court. "It is unfortunate enough when none of the political parties of country added a single line on children welfare policy in its election manifesto despite our protest and persuasion," Deep Singh alleged. While, General Secretary Sunita Bhat said even animals care enough for their kids but our ruling class failed to provide the amusement parks, play grounds, cycling tracks, non-adulterated food and even clean drinking water the basic needs of childhood, she further alleged. "In absence of any concrete policy for the children welfare, negligible number of existing play grounds are being allowed for commercial and political purposes by the administration," she added. They appealed to the rulers, bureaucrats and the civil society to come out of self-centeredness and think about the needed healthy growth of our children. |
