Jammu, Jan 18: Sant Nirankari Charitable dispensary organized a voluntary blood donation camp on Sunday at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Bishnah, where more than 100 units of blood donated by the devotees of the Sant Nirankari Mission. The camp was inaugurated by Regional Secretary Red Cross RC Puri and the camp was held in collaboration with Blood and Transfusion Department of Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, Indian Red Cross Society and JKSACS. Speaking on the occasion, Regional Secretary Red Cross RC Puri said that blood donation was a need of time and congratulated Nirankari Mission for this camp. While, Zonal incharge, Rev Ajit Singh said that even though basically the mission was a spiritual movement, it has been making a significant contribution towards social welfare activities also. He said that while launching the series in 1986, his holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj said that 'Blood should flow in veins and not in drains.' Ever since, lakhs of devotees have been donating their blood every year. He also mentioned about other social welfare activities of the Mission. Among other dignitaries were present in the camp included MLA Bishnah Kamal Arora, Dr Meena, Dr Naveen from Blood Bank GMC Jammu and several prominent citizens of the town. |
