KATHUA, Jan 18: Gurah Mundian Hiranagar lifted the title trophy of 26th District Kathua Volleyball Championship outplaying Mela XI Hiranagar 4-1 in the final played at Government High School Gurah Mundian School, Hiranagar, here today. The girls' title trophy went to Government Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Degree College after defeating Government Degree College Kathua in straight sets. In the finals and prize distribution function, president of Volleyball Association of J&K, Raj Daluja was chief guest, who gave away winners and runners-up trophies. He presented Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 to title holders and runners-up teams respectively. In addition, Rs 2,000 cash prize given away to best player of the tournament. Chief Executive Officer, Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority, Dr Bharat Bhushan presided while general secretary of the Association and Manager SBI, College Road Kathua, KJ Raina were guests of honour. The competition held under the supervision of former DC Central Excise, Madan Lal, who happens to be president of the District Kathua Volleyball. In the meantime, Manager SBI Kathua, NJ Raina announced computer for the benefit of the students of host school and the gesture was welcomed by the gathering. Prominent among others present were Gridhari Lal Chalotra, OS Gill, Jagdish Dogra and OP Sharma. |
