JAMMU, Jan 18: Heart Diseases Awareness Camp was organized at Chak Salarian on Sunday and 200 Patients were attended during the camp. The camp was organised under the supervision of Dr. Sushil K Sharma Head department of Cardiology Government Medical College Jammu along with a team of doctors which consisted of, Dr. Nasir Choudhary, Dr. Mohi Kalsotra, Dr. Arjun Singh, Dr. Atul Vij and paramedics including Kashmiri Lal, Joginder Singh with Volunteers including Gourav Sharma, Rakesh Sharma, Atul Gupta, Aman Gupta and GL Sharma. While, Dr. Sushil K Sharma examined the patients during the camp elaborated the need for early diagnosis and management of cardiac diseases because if not diagnosed or treated in time can lead to mortality and morbidity to the patient. He advised to people to adapt a healthy life style which includes regular walk and physical activities. Obesity is another factor for which people should be aware because it is a precursor for large number of diseases itself. Further Smoking which is very harmful for all vital organs and should be shunned. "In addition to this uncontrolled blood pressure, uncontrolled diabetes, hyperlipidemia should be checked and appropriate measures should be taken for their control. Importance of latest investigations like Coronary angiography, echocardiography, Electrophy-siology study which are now available at doorstep of the people," he also highlighted. Further in this camp the patients were given bene?t of diagnostic tests like ECG, biochemistry and free medicines were also distributed. |
