"In the recent elections, we won 25 seats for the first time since the state of Jammu and Kashmir came into being. In Jammu and Kashmir, we could not form government due to unusual political situation is the elections, but the result shows that no government could be formed without us," he said.
In the J&K Assembly polls, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged as the single largest party with 28 seats, it gained 12 seats from last election. BJP was second largest with 25 seats, its best show till date in J-K elections. Both the parties fell far short of the 44-seat mark required to form a government on their own in the 87-member J-K House.
