Kathua, Mar 17: ASHA Workers Union Billawar of district Kathua had sought coverage under Aam Aadmi Bima Yojna. According to press release a meeting of Asha workers was held in Kathua, which was attended by workers from Billawar, Kishanpur, Kog, Ucha Pend, Ram Kote, Paddu, Parnala, Loi Mallaar and Machhedi zones. Sham Prasad Kesar senior leader of CITU demanded that ASHA workers be regularized as Health workers, Social security benefits like pension, gratuity, maternity benefits, minimum wages Rs. 15000/= per month, ASHA workers be covered under Aam Admi Bima Yojna, all incentives be paid in time, implementation of January 2014 central Govt order for monthly payment of Rs. 1000/=, end to humiliating behavior by the staff, changing rooms, ID cards, Two uniforms, Promoted as ANM after training and all benefits of BPL Cards. Jagdish Sharma and Ramesh chand Secretaries of CITU also addressed the conference and appealed to the state government to concede their just and genuine demands. Conference elected 10 members block committee with Darshana Kumari as President, Umesh Kumari as secretary, Sumita as treasurer, Neena Sharma, Manisha, Santosh Devi as Vice Presidents, Anuradha, Kamla Devi, Reva Devi and Swarna Devi as Joint Secretaries. |
