Jammu, Mar 17: As the assembly is all set to be in session tomorrow, the critical issues that have created great furor since the establishment of new coalition government in the state are likely to take the forefront leading to a stormy session.
If sources are to be believed, Congress and National Conference may take straight on the government on 2010 Kashmir riots mastermind Masarat Alam's release along with the coalition's Health and Medical Education Minister Lal Singh 's alleged misbehaviour with the female medico that become the hot topic in Jammu. The much attention would be towards Bhartiya Janata Party in the House over both the issues as the party had listed great resentment with its coalition partner Peoples Democratic Party to have released the separatist without taking BJP in the loop. The political grapevine, however, has some other interesting anecdotes to disclose on the Bhartiya Janta Party' s camouflaged temperament which it is likely to take into the assembly.
" The party is not likely to take any issue on Masarat or Dr Gurmeet Kour as it has adopted a succumbing aptitude sine the formation of the government under the chief minsitership of PDP's Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. It acted smart by extending a memorandum to the chief minister on Masarat Alam's release and ducked from the issue while on Health Minister Lal Singh's alleged misbehavior, it is all set play cool and defend him ," said the sources.
While talking to Early Times, Dr Gurmeet said she is unconcerned what the BJP does in the House as her self-respect was challenged by Lal Singh in the full public view and she expects that the minister should apologies to her in same tone and tenor.
"I have not done anything wrong so there is no need or scope of apology," Lal Singh had told reporters.
He instead warned doctors to do their job properly 'otherwise be ready for action if any patient will suffer'.
"The doctors should focus on the care of the patients. From the day of joining Health Ministry, I tried to comfort the poor people who come to Government health institutions for their treatment," he said, adding that if any one has any complaint they should approach directly to him.
Dr Gurmeet Kour pooh poohed his claim as nothing but a dictatorial attitude which she said has already harmed the medical fraternity in his earlier stint as health minister.
"He is only obsessed with a[prons and pin-pointing the doctors without any reason which has descended an atmosphere of despondency on the doctors who mostly remain under his fear psychosis and are unable to execute their duties perfectly. Had he been a sincere and ethical, my charges against him would have recived a backlash from the doctors who instead are joining in campaign for his ouster from the health department," said Gurmeet Kour. She also said that no female doctor is safe, if Lal Singh continues as the health minister. On a query as to whether she had approached the party leaders with a lament against the minister, Dr Kour said since the national leaders have expressed their apologies on national channels for his misconduct, she approached deputy chief minister Nirmal Singh for the cognizance of the matter to which the Dy CM too has turned nelson's eye.
" I do not want to seek apology from anybody since I am a doctor (psychiatrist) by profession and come across many rude behaviors from my patients whom I have to treat, But in this case it is an arrogant minister who wants create panic psychosis in the department which is not tolerable," said Gurmeet kour adding that she would reach the PMO office also if required action is not take by the chief minister against Lal Singh.
