ET Report
JAMMU, Mar 17: As a part of major initiative taken by the government of Jammu and Kashmir, the General Administrative Department today ordered disengagement of all those employees who were either given the extension or re-employed in previous National Conference-Congress government.
As per the GAD Order No. 384-GAD of 2015 Dated 17-03-2015 titled as "Termination of re-employment/re-engagement in the Government Departments/Public Sector Undertakings/Boards/Autonomous Bodies", Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed ordered for immediate implementation of the termination of all those employees granted re-employment by various government departments.
"All the re-employment orders issued by various Government Departments are revoked with immediate effect" read the GAD order issued by GAD through Asgar Hussain Additional Secretary to the Government General Administration Department.
The order further reads that "engagements / arrangements made by the different Departments/Public Sector Undertakings/ Boards / Autonomous Bodies under any scheme against any sanctioned posts without any selection procedure, even on contractual basis, shall also cease to exist with immediate effect", added that any other engagements / arrangements made by the Departments, PSUs/ Boards/ Autonomous Bodies at their own level shall also be governed by the above instructions of the Government.
When contacted Commissioner Secretary GAD, M A Bukhari said that the Chief Minister issued these directions with the aim and objective to restore the credibility of the administration, so that it works in a fair and transparent manner.
Pertinently, re-employment of retired employees by the previous government had led to lot of resentment among the unemployed youth of the state who were deprived of jobs by the previous regime which besides reemploying old horses also made several backdoor appointments.
