Rajouri, Mar 17: About 22 soldiers of 54 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) were injured In a road mishap when a army vehicle met with an accident at village Kalsian near Line of Control (LoC) in Jhanger sector in the morning today. According to police sources, the vehicle on way to Nowshera base camp from Jhanger met with an accident near village Kalsian some 18 kilometers from Nowshera town where a part of Kaccha road has sunken due to ensuing incessant rains in the area. "The vehicle rolled down into a deep gorge causing multiple injuries to the soldiers of which, 15 were injured critically, sources said "All the injured were rescued to the army hospital at Nowshera, they said, adding, "Naik Sandeep, L/Naik Dharminder ,V.K , Subedar Raja P, Sepoy Vishwanathan and Madhu M.K, were later air lifted to Command Hospital Udhampur." Reliable defence sources said that five critically injured soldiers were later airlifted to Command hospital at Udhampur after the doctors provided them preliminary treatment at Noushera. Later doctors also referred 9 soldiers to army hospital at Rajouri for further specialized treatment. Those who were shifted to army hospital at Rajouri have been identified as Sepoy Sachin Dass, Sepoy Anu Ranganathan, Naik A.Usmail, Sepoy Jatinder Babu, Sepoy BB Rav, Sepoy Hari Doru , L/Naik Majesh Warn, Sepoy BSS Reddy and Sepoy N Balakrishna. Police sources said that all the injured reportedly are out of danger and responding to the treatment at various hospitals. |
