13 PoK guests arrive, only 2 Kashmiris cross over to other side of LoC

Srinagar, Mar 17: Thirteen fresh guests from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here, while two Kashmiris crossed over to other side last evening.
Official sources told that despite heavy snow, the bus run continued, carrying passengers from both sides of the Line of Control (LoC).
They said 13 guests from PoK arrived at Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector. They included five women and three children. Three Kashmiris, who had gone to PoK to meet their relatives, separated due to partition in 1947, also returned to their homes after completing stay on other side. Returnees included two women, they said.
Sources said that only two Kashmiris, including a woman, crossed over to other side of the LoC. However, there was no PoK returnee in the bus. The Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The bus service, introduced on April 7, 2005 has helped thousands of families divided in 1947 due to partition, to meet each other after both India and Pakistan agreed to allow travel of state subjects from both sides on ' Travel Permits' instead of International passports. However, travel will be allowed only after both the countries clear the person.
