Kathua, Mar 17: Three months have passed but nothing has been done to people affected of cross border firing by the Pakistan in forward border areas and a large number of people from Bobiya village at Zero line staged protest demonstration today against union and state government demanding due compensation for their losses in cross border firing. While interacting to media, Thirth Singh, Naib Sarpanch of the village said, "Dr Jitendra Singh, Union minister for PMO, ensured the villagers to allot 5 marlas plot to each affected family in safe place but nothing has been done till day." He said people seek things on ground realties/practically, not want to live in illusions. He also alleged state government to raise the issue in election campaign but presently neglect the suffering of the border affected people. Ishwar Singh, another villager lamented hundred of hectare agricultural land went waste being situated on the other side of fencing line but government failed to discuss the matter with in Pakistan. Another border resident Suresh Singh, accused Union government for ignoring the suffering of people hailing from border areas. The villagers seek compensation for their losses due to illegal fencing and said government should immediately allot 5 marlas plot at safe place. |
