Two booked for encroaching forest land

Jammu, Mar 17: Police claimed to have booked two persons for allegedly encroaching forest land situated in Bathindi area here today falling under Trikuta Nagar Police Station. The accused duo has been identified as Zakir Hussain of Chattah and Mehraz Din of Narwal.
Police sources said, the FIR in this regard was lodged when Forest Officer Koushal Kumar lodged complaint with the Police Station Trikuta Nagar, alleging therein that two persons had encroached forest land in Bathindi area.
Based on the complaint, police sung into action and arrested two land grabbers. "The above mentioned duo was booked u/s 447A, 739 Forest Act and further investigations are on in this regard," police sources said.
