BJP Jettisons its core philosophy merely to keep its betrothal to PDP alive: Harsh
Saffron party resorting to treacherous moves to remain in power"

Early Times Report

JAMMU, March 25: Accusing the BJP of adopting the Policy of duplicity, deceit and double standards, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and Former Minister has questioned the presence of a Union BJP Minister in a function organized by Pak High Commission in New Delhi on Pakistan Day with Hurriyat and other separatist leaders being the special invitees on the occasion.
Expressing his dismay over the complete somersault taken by the BJP over its professed position and Jingoistic harangues, Singh reminded the Saffron Party of its highly aggressive posture adopted in the past with respect to Pak envoys meeting with Hurriyat and other separatist leaders.
He said that BJP which had all along been opposing any dialogue between Pakistan and Hurriyat, given its stand of Indo-Pak being a bilateral dispute, not only allowed the meeting of Pak-Hurriyat on Indian soils but also deputed a Union Minister as its emissary to facilitate and promote the 'Tripartite dialogue' process. He said that BJP in its dispersion to keep its betrothal to PDP alive, appears to have surrendered its own philosophy and its professed stand and acceded to its coalition Partners demand for involving Hurriyat as well as Pakistan in the dialogue process for the so-called restoration of peace in the region.
Accusing the Saffron Party, Singh lambasted the BJP for its participation in the said function along with Hurriyat leaders more especially at a time when Pakistan had obnoxiously violated the territory integrity, the National Pride and honour by invading Indian territory. He regretted that only three days back Pakistan had pushed its indoctrinated traitors and trained suicide attackers into the Indian territory thus revealing its highly outrageous conduct and wicked designs, besides its avowed policy of belligerence.
He said that rather than conveying to Pakistan in strong terms, the nations' outrage and anger over Pak's misadventures, the BJP govt. chose to make its Union Minister as the Chief Guest on Pak day with PM Narinder Modi exchanging greetings with Nawaz Sharief. He regretted that while Modi was exchanging 'love letters', an idiom popularly used by BJP for exchange of notes between Dr. Man Mohan Singh and his Pakistan counterpart in erstwhile UPA regime, the separatist groups in Kashmir were hoisting Pak flags, celebrating Pakistan Day and shouting Pro Pak slogans. He further deplored that BJP which had all along been in the forefront of protests at the time of any statement by separatists chose to maintain criminal silence over the hosting of Pak flags in Kashmir.
He regretted that no notice was taken of the highly seditious and anti national act of hoisting Pak flags, no statement came from BJP and no cognizance of the criminal act taken by the BJP, despite it running the govt. both at the center as well as the state.
He said that the mere institution of a case under unlawful activities for Pak flag hosting is a mockery on the part of BJP partnered govt. in the state as the offense in question is cognizable under Sec 121 and sec 124 of the Ranbir Penal Code. He said that while in opposition BJP used to go all the way to Lal Chowk Srinagar to hoist national flag on republic days but after it assumed power Pak flags are being hoisted right under its nose.
Harsh Dev Singh further said that not only its lame duck posturing on Pak day celebrations but also the BJP has further conceived a novel way to oblige PDP on scrapping AFSPA from the state by causing a statement to be made by the coalition govt. in the Legislature that Disturbed Areas Act has ceased to operate in the state and implying thereby that AFSPA has become in-operative. Reminding the BJP of its tall preannouncements that "Govt. can be sacrificed but not the AFSPA", he said that the statement made in the legislature indicated the height of treachery and deceit being practiced by the Saffron Party for the lust of power.
Reminding the BJP of its Jingoistic overtures and loud preannouncements during elections, he regretted that BJP which had exploited the gullibility of innocent people . He cautioned the BJP's that its utter lack of consistency, its all round surrender and its ideological retreat would cost the Saffron Party its postal address in the days to come.
