Jammu, Mar 31: The government of Jammu and Kashmir today said that the five medical colleges sanctioned in previous UPA government is a reality, adding that the Jammu and Kashmir government had made a request to government of India for release of funds. In reply to a question whether it is a fact that the previous UPA government has sanctioned five Medical Colleges for the state, if so, the present status of these projects, the government reply stated that the Government of India has identified opening of five new Medical College for J&K State, adding that all the requisite formalities as per the guidelines of Medical Council of India like submission of DPR, and signing of MoU been fulfilled. The department has also requested the Government of India for release of funds to state the construction work. It is pertinent to mention that previous government at center sanctioned five medical colleges for Doda, Kathua, Rajouri, Anantnag and Bharamullah with each college costs around Rs. 189 Cr, but last year, the union government stops the admission in these colleges till the infrastructure will be put in place. |
