NABARD releases Rs 366 crore to J&K Govt for infrastructure projects

Jammu, Mar 31: NABARD has released Rural Infrastructure Development Fund Loan assistance of Rs. 366 crore to the State Government during the year 2014-15 for rural infrastructure projects in the State, surpassing last year's disbursement of Rs. 277 crore, in spite of the natural calamity witnessed during the year.
According to press release, 115 new projects, pertaining to Roads and Bridges (62), Rural Market Yard (1), Seed Farms (3), Animal/Sheep Husbandry (33) & Primary Health Centres (16) involving NABARD RIDF Loan of Rs. 307.91 crore have also been sanctioned under RIDF Tranche XX during the year. All the projects submitted by State Govt. during 2014-15 have been accorded sanction by NABARD.
Cumulatively, as on 31 March 2015, NABARD has sanctioned 4837 projects for Rs. 4702 crore and released Rs. 4030.35 crore so far, in 20 Tranches, to Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir. This has helped in creation of economic infrastructure in the State besides creating additional direct & indirect employment opportunities in rural areas.
