Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 30: The war of words triggered by Omar Abdullah on Twitter according to sources may trigger a major revolt within National conference (NC) senior lot following the demand of seniors to make juniors in party accountable for issuing statements without their knowledge. Sources said that all the senior leaders of Party mostly from North Kashmir are united and adamantly demanding apology from juniors of the party handling party headquarter here at Srinagar who issued statement on behalf of Party mentioning their names in the statement without their knowledge.
Sources said that senior leaders are also demanding to go through some recently issued other statements for publication issued on behalf of party and are adamant to make juniors accountable for creating fuss within NC camp unnecessarily.
Pertinently NC has called for a meeting of its bearers here today to put an end to the revolt started after Omar Abdullah slammed Sajad Lone last week on Twitter after Lone reportedly advocated for political space to RSS in Kashmir in an interview to a national Paper. The Twitter battle between Omar and Sajad was followed by a statement issued by NC in which senior NC leaders, including Chaodhary Mohammad Ramzan, Mir Saifullah, Mohamamd Shafi Uri, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Qaiser Jamshed Lone, Kafil-ur-Rehman and Nasir Khan, lashed out at Sajad Lone for his statement to allow RSS to Kashmir.
One Para of statement quoting these leaders who all belong to North Kashmir issued to media for Publication reads "First they sent our youth across the border and built their personal estates and vast empires on their graves and now Lone says those who wave Pakistani flags should go to Pakistan."
However next day it was senior leader of North Kashmir whose name furnished in statement, Akbar Lone first distanced himself from the statement and said that "he was not knowing about any such statement issued' and later almost all other leaders of North Kashmir whose name furnished in statement also themselves from the statement. Advocating for Senior leaders consultation before issuing statement in press for Publication, NC Additional general secretary,Dr Mustafa Kamaal today said that fault lies with the people in party who issued statement without taking consensus of senior leaders and added that seniors should have been consulted before issuing such a statement. "I was asked and I gave my nod straight forward, leaders whose name appear in list are from senior batch of party and are in the party since 1980 so their consultation in every matter is always must, nobody is angry but everything must in order to avoid chaos and commotion."Added Mustafa Kamaal Pertinently everything started after Omar Abdullah and Sajad lone last week slammed each other on Twitter with Omar initiating a Tweet that "And for this all Sajad got was a few sheep & goats to look after! I'm sure the RSS will help next time around!!!,
To which Sajad lone replied "...Oh I forgot I have renewable energy too which ur (your) Dad (Farooq Abdullah) had in the UPA regime (sic)".
