Samba, Nov 20: The checking team of ARTO Office Samba headed by ARTO Er. Kuldeep Singh conducted extensive checking on different inter district routes and Jammu-Kathua National Highway and imposed a fine of Rs 3.90 lacs on the traffic violators. During the two day checking drive, more than 300 vehicles were checked by the team and 100 vehicles were compounded and challaned.
The violators were booked under various provisions of Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 and rules framed there under. The violators were fined for indulging into overloading, driving without seat belts and crash helmets, using pressure horns, wrong lane driving and plying of vehicles in contravention of Registration Certificates and route permits. Also, vehicles were challaned for plying without (HSRP) High Security Registration Plates. The checking team comprised of MVI Chander Mohan Sharma, Rohit Kumar, Sikander Singh and Shamsher Ali. |
