Kishtwar Nov 20: The Students of Government Polytechnic College Kishtwar today held a strong protest against zero percent result in electrical stream while only 16 students out of 60 were declared pass in 2nd semester the students also showed solidarity with the deceased Srinagar Polytechnic College student Adnan who committed suicide after Technical Board showed him fail in the examination while the deceased student had actually got 90% after revaluation of the answer sheets.
As per the details available with "Early Times", large number of students from Kishtwar polytechnic college led by Sahil Kotwal today held a protest inside Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar office against the State Technical Education Board for showing zero percent result in semester II of electrical stream as none of of 60 students enrolled in Kishtwar polytechnic college were declared as pass, beside only 16 students manage to clear the examination in civil engineering stream out of 60 students that too with low pass percentage marks. They alleged that the Jammu and Kashmir technical education board is playing with the future of the students, and there is nexus within the technical board who are robbing the students on the name of revaluation fee .
"How it is possible that there will be such huge fluctuation in the marks after revelation --- Adanan was first declared fail and after rechecking of his answer sheet, it was found he (Adnan) has passed with 90% marks--- difference up to 5% marks variation could be justified, but not 55% marks variation" Said Sahil Kotwal, a student.
Later the agitating students also submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan highlighting the demands and the anger of the student community towards failure of technical education board.
