Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Nov 20: Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Udhampur organized an awareness programme on Road Safety at Government High School Dehari and Government Higher Secondary School Ramnagar here today. While speaking on the occasion, Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Udhampur, Rajesh Gupta called upon the students for generating maximum awareness regarding the road safety measures to check road accidents. He said that people should follow the traffic rules and adopt safety measures while driving which would help avoid accidents and save precious lives. Inspector MVD, Sunil Cannie said that most of the accidents are caused due to use of cell phones while driving, rash driving and drunken driving etc. He advised to follow the road safety rules to minimize road accidents. Among others, Principal, Headmaster, prominent people and large number of students were present on the occasion. Later, during the checking of passenger vehicles on the Ramnagar route, ARTO on the spot booked 10 passenger vehicles and compounded a fine of Rs 5000 from them for violating various provisions of Motor Vehicle Act. |
