KATRA, Nov 20: Mannat Arora of Zorawar Club Reasi clinched the men's singles title in the Invitational Table Tennis Tournament which was organised by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) at Sports Complex, here today.
In the final, Mannat defeated Suraj of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) 3-1 (13-11, 11-04, 07-11, 11-08). The men's doubles title went to the pair of Suraj and Yuvraj of SMVDU, who beat the duo of Mannat Arora and Chahaat of Zorawar Club in straight sets of 11097, 11-07, 11-09.
The junior girls' final won by Pallavi of Amba Kids Panthal, who beat Priya of DPS Katra in straight sets of 11-07, 11-09. Junior girls doubles trophy bagged by the duo of Mansi and Anjana of Evergreen School beating Mumtaz and Priyanka of Amba Kids Panthal 11-05, 11-06.
In junior boys' singles title clash, Raja Mohd Asif of Amba Kids trounced Shrawan Kotwal of Dev Kids World Katra 11-09, 11-07, 11-08. The junior boys' doubles title went to Arjun Pujari and Karmanyu of DPS Katra, who beat Sandeep Kumar and Bharat Bhushan of Amba Kids Panthal 14-12, 06-11, 11-09.
Speaking to the gathering, Director Sports of SMVDDSB, Ashok Kumar expressed his gratitude to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Board for the patronage and support in the successful conduct of the event. He also thanked the participating educational institutions and clubs for participation.
