Jammu, Nov 20: NSS Units of GGM Science College, Jammu and Gandhian Study Center have organized a seminar on the theme Role of Youth in the preservation of Heritage as part of celebration of Heritage week under the supervision of Dr. Rajinder Singh, NSS Programme officer. According to press release, the chief guest on the occasion was Prof. (Dr.) T.A Kawoos, Director Colleges, Higher Education Department, J&K Govt. The seminar was attended by two hundred students along with a number of faculty members. The Chief Guest and other guests were welcomed by Dr. Ajeet Angral, Nodal Principal, Jammu Division Colleges who explained in detail the importance of preservation of heritage. The Chief Guest in his address, while appreciating the role of College Administration and NSS Units in organizing the seminar advised the students to become role models in spreading the message of preservation of heritage as India is having a rich heritage in its buildings, culture, traditions etc. and the youth have specific role in the preservation of same. Ten students have participated in the seminar Shivali, B.Sc. Part- III , Monika Bhau, B.Sc. Part- III and Kunal Saini, B.Sc. Semester- III were adjudged Ist, IInd and IIIrd respectively in the seminar. The judges of the seminar were Dr. Kuldeep Singh, HoD Botany, Dr. Ranvijay Singh, HoD, Zoology and Prof. Ruth Masih. The programme was anchored by Monika Bhau and Shivali. |
