Early Times Report REasi, Dec 1: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J), organized one day training programme on 'Processing of Galgal' for Rural women and un-employed youth at Village Granmorh, District Reasi. The programme was organized by Rainfed Research Sub-Station for Sub-Tropical Fruits (RRSS), Raya under SERB-DST Project, New Delhi in collaboration with KVK, Reasi, SKUAST-Jammu. In this training, about 60 rural women and un-employed youth from village Granmorh participated. Meenakshi Trilokia, JRF, SERB-DST Project, RRSS, Raya at the outset of the programme extended warm welcome to the participating rural women, unemployed youth and Dr. Sanjay Koushal, SMS (Agronomy), KVK, Reasi, SKUAST-Jammu. Dr. Neeraj Gupta, Principal Investigator, SERB-DST Project began the training programme and gave details regarding the Processing of Galgal, by making its pickle and squash. The participants were satisfied with this technique of processing of this fruit especially under rainfed areas. Dr. Sanjay Koushal, SMS (Agronomy), KVK, Reasi, SKUAST-Jammu convey the participants regarding the importance of underutilized fruits especially in rainfed areas and suggest the locals for the efficient utilization of these underutilized fruits by processing, pickle making or some other means. At the end of the Programme, Meenakshi Trilokia, JRF, SERB-DST Project, RRSS, Raya expressed the vote of thanks to the participants and Dr. Sanjay Koushal, SMS (Agronomy), KVK, Reasi, SKUAST-Jammu. |
