Udhampur, April 17: All Jammu and Kashmir Plus 2 Lecturers' Forum today held a meeting under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma and showed resentment over the Government Order No-308 of GAD of 2016 dated 2-4-2016 under which eight newly created posts of Joint Director School Education have been allotted to the KAS Cadre.
They demanded that the Directors and Joint Directors of School Education Department must be appointed by elevation of officers of the Education Department on the pattern of Health Department, Agriculture Department, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department where these officers are appointed by elevation of officers from their respective Departments. They urged Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to order rollback of the said order and continue the practice of appointing the Joint Directors by promotion of CEOs and equivalents and thus, enhance promotional avenues for the officers of School Education Department who are fully competent, experienced and capable to run the Department properly and efficiently.
