JAMMU, Apr 17: A J&K cadre IPS officer, who is at present on central deputation, allegedly owns three flats worth Rs 9 cr in New Delhi. These flats are located at different places in the national capital. "While one is registered in his name, the other two are in the name of his wife and father. Their total price is Rs 9 cr," police sources said. Before leaving for central posting, he held a significant position in the state. He was at present posted in a central anti-terror agency, sources informed. "In the property statement filed by him with the home department, he has stated that one flat was bought by him for Rs 3.5 cr and the other two for Rs 55 lakh each in different years. He claims to have received some money to buy these properties from relatives as gift," sources claimed, saying that the property cost had doubled now. He was considered powerful in the state police circles and no senior officer had ever intervened in his working. He also toured the state some time back in connection with the investigation of a terror case. When the central anti-terror agency had decided to open its office in Jammu, he had tried for his posting here as the J&K chief of the agency. |
