Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 17: Close lieutenant of a former Minister showing thumb to directions of Minister for Health and Education Department by not leaving 'prominent' space at Indira Gandhi Government Dental College Jammu, Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu and its associated hospitals.
Penitently, the Minister for H&ME Department Bali Bhagat had directed to higher ups of the respective hospitals to close the private medical shops at Indira Gandhi Government Dental College Jammu, Super Specialty Hospital, Government Medical College and Hospital and Psychiatric hospital Jammu.
Reliable Sources at the H&ME department told Early Times that after taking charge of Minister for Health and Medical Education department Bali Bhagat had cleared that he was against the 'business' which practices adopted by Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation under the pressure of Political leader as well as to appease the influential persons allegedly. Minister also cleared that the department would only focus on free drug policy- which was approved during Governor rule- in the State.
They further stated that since the order has been issued, the lieutenant knocked the doors of the political leaders to pressurize the department to reopen shops as soon as possible and continue to occupy the prominent space at these hospitals on the directions of their bosses. "A plan is also running to buy the time for negotiation to convince the Minister through various channels to reopen these shops.
"However, a week has been passed to issue the order of closing the private establishments but the influential persons have deputed atleast a person on each shop for opening and closing to only maintaining their occupation on these 'prominent' space which taken by concerned authority after huge hardship, "they asserted.
Sources alleged that either some officials, who have sat at higher positions in these hospitals, are fearing to remove the structure established by the influential persons or they are appeasing them. Clearly showed that the administration of the hospitals given damn to directions of current Minister.
When contacted Minister for Health and Medical Education Department Bali Bhagat said that he had issued order to close down the private shops, if these shops were opened he would ask to concern authority.
