JAMMU, Apr 17: On the recommendations of at least two ministers of BJP and PDP, over a dozen police Havaldars have been given choice postings in the region.
By recommending the names of Havaldars to PHQ for transfers at the places of their choice, the ministers of the two alliance partners want to consolidate their positions in their respective constituencies, according to police sources.
To make sure that these Havaldars were not transferred to other places, the ministers had also written D O letters to the PHQ and spoken to senior officers personally, sources said.
Sources said of the 207 Havaldars, whose transfer orders were issued in the recent past, over a dozen were posted at the places of their choice on the recommendations of the ministers. Apart from the ministers, some MLAs and MLCs too had made recommendations for their transfers, the sources added. |
