PHE workers hold protest rally at Katra

Katra , Apr 17 : In supports of their long pending demands, the agitating daily rated workers of PHE came out on the roads and held protest demonstration against the state government at Holy Town Katra for the redressal of their demands.
The Public Health Engineering daily wagers assembled at Katra from each and every nook and corner of the Jammu region under the banner of All J&K PHE ITI Trained and CP Workers Association, Jammu Province and being supported by Rakesh Wazir, President Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra and Congress leader who while addressing them said that the State government is acting deaf and dumb regarding the matter of the PHE daily workers. He added that the government instead of adopting the delaying tactics, should consider immediately the genuine demands of all the PHE daily wagers including CP,ITI trained, Land case, casual labourers etc. who are engaged from 1994 till date and should regularize them immediately with release of their pending wages at the earliest".
He added that daily wagers are working day and night on small emoluments and their families are struggling from pillar to post as they are unable to meet the basic necessities like proper education, clothes and food for their families, but the Government is acting deaf and dumb.
Tanveer Hussain, President of the association while elaborating in detail the issues of PHE daily wagers of all kinds said that government should consider their demands immediately and should not treat them differently from the rest of the regular employees and should regularize them at the earliest with release of their previous salaries. He appealed that the Association will consider other options including Secretariat Gherao as if their demands are not considered before 21st April. Earlier, the daily wagers assembled at New Bus Stand Katra and thereafter in the shape of procession after passing through Asia Chowk ,Main Bus Stand,Main Bazar submitted the memorandum at SDM office.
Prominent among others who addressed the gathering include Anil Sharma President All J&K Sarpanch Conference, Deepak Gupta Vice President, Jeevan Singh, Bhawani Partap Singh, Tilak Raj, Pawan Kumar, Radhe Kumar, Manmohan Singh, Sonu Kumar and others.
