| Police takes cognizance as both sides file their complaints | | MLA thrashing Patwari row: | |

Jammu, Apr 26: Arnia police have started investigations in the alleged thrashing of Patwari by MLA R S Pura after the police had received respective complaints from both sides with their claims and counter claims.
According to police sources, while in his complaint, MLA R.S Pura has alleged that one of his supporter entered into verbal brawl with the Patwari after the latter showed lethargy in performing his duty on the other hand the Patwari in his complaint had alleged that he was thrashed by the MLA himself during his office hours.
After getting complaints from the two sides, the Police have started investigation in this connection", a senior police officer confirmed when contacted.
Here it needs to mention that All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association today staged a protest demonstration at Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office Jammu South on Monday demanding stern action against the MLA RS Pura for allegedly thrashing their colleague -Patwari
Protestors including all the Patwaris and Girdawar of five Tehsils of Jammu district under the leadership of District President of Association Jammu while staging protest alleged that the MLA RS Pura, Gagan Bhagat had roughed up Patwari Selahar, Rakesh Kumar posted at Tehsil Bishnah and demanded action against the elected representative who took law into his hand. |
