LMD recovers Rs. 84,000 fine from erring traders

JAMMU, MAY 28 - Teams of Legal Metrology under the supervision of Deputy Controller Consumer Protection V.S Sambya conducted special drive in R.S Pura, Gangyal, Narwal, Gadigarh, Miran Sahib and its adjoining areas and booked thirty six traders for using unverified Weighing and Measuring instruments in commercial transactions, less delivery of commodities to the consumers, sale of Packaged goods with declarations not as per Packaged Commodities Rules.
A fine of Rs 84,000 was recovered from the erring traders for violating various provisions of J&K Weights and Measures Act, 1997 read with Packaged Commodities Rules.
