Srinagar, June 28: A soldier of Rashitriya Rifles (RR) committed suicide by shooting self with his service weapon in the central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, official sources said here today. They said panic gripped in Wussan camp of 24 RR when firing was heard from an area in the camp last night. Troops present in the camp rushed towards the area and found a 22-year-old Krishan Pal Naruka in a pool of blood. However, he died before he could be shifted to hospital, they said. It was not immediately clear why he took this extreme step, they said adding police has registered a case and initiated proceedings. Taking of extreme step among the security forces has not stopped even authorities introduced "Yoga" and Art of Living to help troops deployed in counter insurgency operations to come out from the stress.
