Early Times Report
Jammu, July 23: Police have initiated probe into the 'unconditional' release of a senior officer and a senior woman officer, who were caught in an objectionable position in city outskirts a few days ago.
Sources told Early Times the two top officials after being caught were released after they allegedly greased the palms of the police official who had caught them.
However, after the Police official came to know that both of them were senior government officers, he let them go without registering any case against them, sources alleged, saying a huge amount was charged by him for their 'unconditional' release.
Taking cognizance of the news report published in this regard in Early Times, a senior police officer has reportedly initiated a probe into the alleged incident, sources said.
The call details of the accused, and the police officers are also being gathered for verification, the sources added.
As reported earlier a senior officer of Social Welfare Department (SWD) was allegedly caught with a female officer a few days ago.
The duo was initially intercepted by police near a naka. They were set free after the senior officer claimed the female officer was his wife.
Later, the naka was lifted but one of the police officer who knew the senior officer of SWD chased their car and found them in objectionable position near a desolate place.
Sources maintained that after they were caught the duo was given time to arrange some money following which services of a storekeeper of one of the officers were utilized who immediately collected some money and paid it to the officer for setting them free.
Sources further stated the senior police officers got information from the intelligence wing of the state police when one of the officers of Social Welfare Department disclosed the matter. The male officer is reportedly a close relative of an ex-minister.
