Ask them not to "pressurize" Govt employees to attend offices
Separatists challenge authority of DCs

Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 4: As the unrest in Kashmir completed its 27th day, the separatists on Thursday issued yet another protest calendar and extended the shutdown till August 12 (Friday).
Separatists have been issuing the protest calendars since the day Hizbul militant Burhan Wani died in a gunfight with the security forces at Kokernag in south Kashmir on July 8.
The new calendar has challenged the authority of the Deputy Commissioners and has asked them not to intimidate the government employees to reach the offices and attend the duties. The separatists have also asked people to block the roads leading towards the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar.
Sources said, "The present agitation in Kashmir has been sponsored by Pakistan and separatists have been asked not to let this chance slip out of their hands. They (separatists) are prolonging shutdowns and instigating the people to hit the streets to appease their bosses sitting across the Line of Control."
They said the so called joint separatist leadership comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik have asked their henchmen to remain behind the scene and not to lead the protests. "The youth are being turned into cannon fodder and are being directed towards the camps of the security forces and the police stations," sources added.
They said, "Desperate attempts are being made to foment trouble in Srinagar city, which has otherwise remained calm. All efforts are being put to push the protesters towards the force personnel so that they can be provoked. Separatists know it very well that a few killings in Srinagar city can turn the situation from bad to worse," said a source.
An insider revealed, " The killing of an ATM guard of Chattabal, who was found dead on Tuesday night under mysterious circumstances, could be the handiwork of miscreants as many pellet guns are missing. Pellets may have been pumped into his body to shift the blame on the security forces."
He said his mysterious death is being probed and truth will come to fore soon.
Meanwhile, sources said, traders in Kashmir have suffered a loss of over Rs, 2,000 Crore and traders in Jammu are stated to have suffered a loss of over Rs.1000 crores. "There is a possibility of some political activists in Jammu, who are upset over the prolonged turmoil in Kashmir, may repeat the 2007-2008 episode when the highway was blocked to teach separatists and the people who are playing into hands of Pakistan a lesson. In fact the anger in Jammu is not against people of Kashmir but it's against separatists and militants who are misleading the people to fill their coffers and keep themselves relevant."
